Spaces
Spaces let you separate different contexts such as work, personal projects, side projects, or team boards.
Default behavior
- The default space is Start
- The default space can be renamed
- The default space cannot be deleted
- The default space stays first in ordering
Multi-space support
- Free includes 2 spaces
- Pro unlocks unlimited spaces Pro
- New spaces start empty
- Spaces can be renamed
- Spaces can be reordered
- Spaces can be shared as temporary import-code snapshots
- Spaces can be deleted except for the default space
- Groups can be moved between spaces
Overflow behavior
When there are many spaces, the tab bar collapses extra spaces into a More menu.
Sharing behavior
Share codes create encrypted local-copy snapshots, not collaborative sessions. Codes expire after 30 days unless extended from Settings → Spaces → Shared boards, and expired shared-board payloads are deleted automatically.

Spaces settings including spaces management, import from code, shared-board management, and managed board subscription.
Free vs Pro controls
Some controls only appear, or only act, on Pro. So free users don't hit dead ends, the gated controls are handled in two ways:
- Hidden in Settings → Spaces. The Shared boards, Published boards, and Managed boards management buttons are hidden entirely for free users — a short note in that section explains they're Pro features. This prevents the owner-only panels from opening or sending authenticated requests.
- Locked in the space ⋯ menu. Protect, Share, and Publish stay visible but are marked with a Pro sparkle; clicking one opens the upgrade prompt instead of running the action.
Always free
Importing a share code and subscribing to a managed board are always free — these rows stay available so anyone can receive a board someone shared with them, even without Pro.
Protected spaces Pro
- Set a passphrase to protect a space
- Unlocking requires the passphrase
- Protected tabs show a lock indicator
- Canceling an unlock keeps your previous space active

Protect Workspace modal with the passphrase confirmation flow.
Shared boards Pro
- Sharing creates an encrypted snapshot of one space
- Importing a code creates a local editable copy (a fork)
- Codes expire after 30 days unless extended, or set to never expire
- Manage created codes from Settings → Spaces → Shared boards — search by code or name, copy, extend, delete
- Update code re-snapshots the space into the same code, so new imports get your latest version (people who already imported keep their copy)
- Deleting a code prevents future imports only
Three ways to share
A share code is a one-time editable copy. For a read-only web link or a live read-only board for a team, see Sharing & publishing.
