Tasks

The Tasks hub gathers every to-do in the active workspace into one place, so you can run down your list without hunting through the board.

Opening Tasks

Click the Tasks button - it sits inside the search bar, at its right end (or in the row above the board when the search bar is turned off). The panel shows your lists on the left and the selected list's tasks on the right, with a progress bar and a search box.

The Tasks button also carries a badge with the number of open tasks in the active workspace, so you can see at a glance whether anything is waiting.

Like Notes, the hub is per workspace — it always reflects the workspace that's active on the dashboard.

Two kinds of list

ListWhere it livesEditing
Standalone listOnly in the Tasks hub, off the board gridFully editable here
Board list (badge: board)Mirrors a board group that contains to-do itemsEdits flow back onto the board group

Any group on your board that holds to-do items automatically shows up here as a board list — check a task off in the hub and it updates on the board, and vice versa. Board-list titles are read-only in the hub because they belong to the group.

Working with lists

  • New list creates a standalone list and focuses its title so you can name it inline — no browser pop-up. Press Enter on the title to jump straight to adding tasks.
  • Rename a standalone list any time by editing its title at the top of the panel.
  • Add a task with the input at the bottom of the list.
  • Check a task to complete it; the progress bar tracks the list.
  • Clear completed removes the finished tasks from the current list.
  • Search filters the tasks in the selected list.

Reminders

Every task and task list has a bell: pick a preset (15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, tomorrow) or a custom time, and ReadyTab fires a browser notification when it's due - even with no ReadyTab tab open. Clicking the notification opens the Tasks hub at the right list.

  • Reminders are one-shot: each fires once and is then cleared.
  • They live on this device only and are never cloud-synced, so a reminder set on your desktop won't also fire on your laptop.
  • The first reminder you set asks for the browser's notification permission; there is also a master switch under Settings > General ("Task reminder notifications").
  • Deleting a task, list, group, or workspace clears its reminders; undoing a group delete restores them.

Privacy & protected workspaces

Tasks follow their workspace's protection, exactly like Notes:

  • Standalone lists are stored locally in your browser.
  • In a protected workspace ✦ the hub stays locked until you unlock the workspace — both the standalone lists (encrypted at rest) and the board lists (inside the encrypted board) are hidden until then.
  • Reminders for tasks in a protected workspace show a generic "Task reminder" notification, so task text never appears on a locked screen.

Sync ✦

With Cloud sync enabled, your standalone task lists sync across your devices. Board lists sync as part of their board.

To-dos on the board

Want a checklist visible on the board? Add a to-do item to a group (see Groups and items) — it appears here as a board list automatically.
